The Folx Collective envisions a world where Black, Femme, Queer, and other marginalized LGBTQ+ individuals are celebrated, empowered, and free to thrive without barriers. We strive to cultivate a future rooted in equity, inclusion, and justice—where systemic oppression is dismantled, resources are accessible, and every individual has the support and community they need to flourish. Through advocacy, education, and direct action, we are building a society where resilience, visibility, and connection are not just aspirations but realities for all.

The Folx Collective is dedicated to uplifting and empowering Black, Femme, and Queer individuals, as well as other marginalized members of the LGBTQ+ community. Through advocacy, education, and direct support, we strive to dismantle systemic barriers, provide vital resources, and create inclusive spaces that foster resilience, visibility, and connection. Our mission is to ensure that those most impacted by social and political exclusion have the tools, support, and community they need to thrive.
About Us
The Folx Collective is a community-driven nonprofit committed to serving Black, Femme, Queer, and other marginalized LGBTQ+ individuals. Born from the urgent need for equity and belonging, we exist to challenge systemic oppression and build structures of support where none have existed.​ Our work centers on direct action, education, and advocacy across areas such as housing and essentials insecurity, mental health and harm reduction, financial literacy, education access, and career development. Every program we offer is free and intentionally designed to meet people where they are—with dignity, care, and culturally informed resources.​ We are building a world where our community members aren’t just surviving, but thriving—with access to safe housing, meaningful opportunities, and spaces that celebrate their full selves. At The Folx Collective, we know that liberation is a collective effort—and we’re here to make it real.

The Board of The Folx Collective is made up of passionate, community-rooted individuals who are deeply committed to the mission, vision, and future of this organization. Each member brings a wealth of lived experience, professional expertise, and unwavering heart to the table—with one shared purpose: to uplift and empower Black, femme, queer, and other marginalized members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Our board understands the urgency of the work ahead and is determined to ensure The Folx Collective delivers on every promise we make to our community.
From addressing housing insecurity to expanding access to mental health support, education, career development, and safe spaces, we are focused on building an organization that reflects the values we live by: equity, inclusion, resilience, and radical care.
